KOA Christchurch undertakes surveys of Open Space Land Covenants for the QEII National Trust throughout the wider Canterbury Region, Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast areas.
Brent George of KOA Christchurch attended the launch of the Queens Commonwealth Canopy initiative in NZ by Her Excellency, The Rt Hon. Dame Patsy Reddy GNZN QSO, Governor General of New Zealand.
The launch celebrated the formal registration of Mount Terako Covenant, New Zealand’s first QCC covenant, established by Sue and Peter Turnbull in partnership with QEII Trust. Steve Jacobs and Paul Halkett of KOA completed the field survey definition of the covenant (DP 497998) in May 2016.
The Minister of Conservation, Hon. Maggie Barry ONZM, and friends and associates of QEII National Trust were welcomed officially at Mt Lyford Lodge by Iwi representatives, and after a lunch, visited the Mount Terako Covenant where the unveiling of a commemorative plaque took place.
